Kids’ Art Therapy Summer Camp

5 Program Weeks - 5 Days/Week

Led by a team of trained art therapists, each week focuses on a different art modality, helping kids build confidence, express feelings, and connect with peers in meaningful ways. Families may choose one week or attend multiple.

  • This camp invites youth to explore identity, strengths, and self-expression through creative art-making. Using mixed media, nature-based art, and mask work, participants will reflect on who they are, what they value, and how they show up in the world, all in a supportive, affirming space.

    Camp activities:

    • Self-portrait mosaic (Silhouette and collage to represent different facets of self.)

    • Nature walk/sensory nature Mandala (leaves/bark/stones, create “inner landscape.)

    • My strength shield (Cake board/EVA foam/mixed medium, create symbols of personal strengths, challenges, supports.)

    • My story map (Mixed media, life as a map/road with landmarks: past, present, future.)

    • My authentic self (Mask with plaster and mold)

  • Through guided painting activities, participants will explore emotions, inner experiences, and personal growth. This camp emphasizes process over perfection, offering a calming and expressive space to paint feelings, imagine safe places, and create both individual and collaborative artwork

    • Calm space visualization/painting

    • Emotions color wheel/watercolor painting series

  • This camp uses mask-making to explore the many ways we present ourselves to the world. Participants will create a series of masks representing what they show, what they protect, and what feels most authentic, culminating in a plaster life-mask that honors the self beneath it all.

    Camp activities:

    • The mask I show the world (collage)

    • The hidden mask (2 cardboard masks-mixed media)

    • The mask that protects me (foam/craft wire/metallic paint)

    • Future mask (Tissue paper/mask mold)

    • My Authentic self (Plaster mask)

  • Using clay and sculptural materials, participants will explore self-esteem, inner strength, and emotional resilience. Art directives focus on externalizing worries, meeting the inner critic, nurturing the inner child, and creating symbols of protection, growth, and self-compassion.

    Camp activities:

    • Inner critic encounter/containment (oven-bake polymer/popsicle sticks)

    • Worry pot (model magic/paper)

    • Inner child (Air dry clay)

    • My authentic self- Mask with plaster and mold

  • This camp introduces youth to printmaking as a playful and expressive art form. Participants will experiment with stamps, textures, layers, and patterns while exploring how repeated marks can tell stories, express identity, and create meaning through process-based art.

Why Creative Continuum Therapy?

At Creative Continuum Therapy’s Summer Art Therapy Program, kids walk away with more than just artwork—they gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Through creative expression, they learn how to navigate big emotions, build confidence in who they are, and develop tools that help them feel more regulated and in control. The program is designed to meet each child where they are, helping them strengthen their unique abilities, connect with others, and feel seen and supported. By the end of the summer, kids often leave with a stronger sense of identity, improved coping skills, and the confidence to move through the world in a way that feels true to them.
